Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

Leaking when you laugh, rushing to the bathroom or pain with intimacy are common in midlife, but they are not normal parts of aging that you have to accept. Pelvic health physiotherapy can help.

About this service

Private, respectful pelvic floor care

The pelvic floor muscles support your bladder, bowel and pelvic organs. Changes in hormones, past pregnancies and years of daily load can leave them weak, tight or poorly coordinated. The result can be leaks, urgency, heaviness or pain.

Your pelvic health physiotherapist will explain what is happening and assess your pelvic floor, with an internal exam only if you are comfortable and consent. Treatment may include muscle retraining, bladder strategies, breathing and movement work, and education you can use at home.

We can help with

  • Bladder leaks with coughing, sneezing or exercise
  • Urgency and frequent bathroom trips
  • Getting up at night to urinate
  • Pelvic organ prolapse and heaviness
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Pelvic, hip and tailbone pain
  • Constipation and bowel concerns
  • Core and pelvic floor strength for exercise
